Em 15 de Fevereiro de 2012, dia seguinte de seu aniversário de nascimento, Carlão abriu as portas da Prime Jiu-Jitsu Center no Colorado, Estados Unidos, com seu novo sócio Marcelo Motta, faixa preta de Suyan Queiroz – um dos braços direitos de Carlão em Abu Dhabi junto com Olavo Abreu.
A Prime Jiu-Jitsu Center tem 140m2 de área, equipados com tatames Zebra Pro-series, localizada numa área nobre da cidade de Colorado Springs e com uma incrível vista das montanhas Pikes Peak. Colorado Springs fica a mais de 6 mil pés acima do nível do mar (aproximadamente 1830 metros de altitude) o que permite aos atletas uma condição física privilegiada diante dos oponentes de outras partes dos Estados Unidos.Como de costume Carlão Santos está a alguns passos à frente. A Prime Jiu-Jitsu Center mal entrou em funcionamento, ele já aponta seus novos objetivos: Organizar seus campeonatos “Super Cup” agora no Colorado e também Estados Unidos e Canada e fundar a CBJJF – Colorado State Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. Aproveitando a proximidade física do Comitê Olímpico Americano, porque não tornar o BJJ, um dos esportes que mais crescem em popularidade no mundo, finalmente PROFISSIONAL e quem sabe ser reconhecido pelo comitê olimpico?
